The Felix Project – £1000
1.5 million adults in London struggle to afford to eat every day, 400,000 children are at risk of missing the next meal. Meanwhile, our food industry generates almost 2 million tonnes of good, edible surplus food each year. The Felix Project is a London-based food redistribution waste charity set up in 2016 to tackle both issues.
The Felix Project is currently supplying 274 charities and primary schools, and rescues nearly 40 tonnes of food each week which represents sufficient food to make around 13,000 meals each day. By doing so the charity is saving around £8m worth of food each year.
Kent Wish Foundation – Christmas Wish Campaign – £500
The Kent Wish Foundation creates opportunities and platforms for children with life-limiting illnesses to receive that one thing, that one dream that they have always wanted.
Whether it’s going on an amazing holiday, meeting their idol, or visiting their favourite football team, KWF tries to make children’s wishes come true through the hard work of the team and the generous donations from the Kent community and local businesses.
A child’s life shouldn’t be dictated by illness, treatments, hospital visits and doom and gloom. KWF wants to provide a light in their day. A glimmer of happiness that will have a positive effect on their lives through an incredibly tough period.
Wishes are a powerful medicine!
