Trainee Solicitor/Solicitor Apprentice (SQE Route)
Kings Hill, Kent
Griffin Law is offering an exciting opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic applicant to join our litigation team with a structured pathway to qualification as a solicitor.
The successful candidate will initially join the firm as a Paralegal for approximately six months. Subject to satisfactory performance, they will then progress onto our structured solicitor development programme. Depending on the successful candidate’s circumstances, this may be by way of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route, with the period of employment counting towards Qualifying Work Experience (QWE), or, where applicable, under the transitional LPC/training contract arrangements.
Working alongside a team of experienced litigation solicitors, you will gain exposure to a broad range of contentious matters and develop the practical skills required to qualify as a solicitor.
The ideal applicant will have excellent problem-solving skills, strong commercial awareness, a positive and proactive attitude, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to teamwork and client service.
Applicants should have a strong academic background, including a 2:1 degree (or above). Candidates should either:
- have completed, or be studying towards, the SQE; or
- have completed the LPC under the transitional arrangements.
Previous office experience is essential, and prior experience working as a paralegal or within a legal practice would be highly desirable.
The starting salary is £23,500 per annum, increasing to £25,000 per annum following successful progression onto the solicitor development programme. This is a full-time, office-based position working 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday from our offices in Kings Hill, Kent.
Full-time employees receive 29 days’ annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing with service to 34 days (including bank holidays). On commencement you will be enrolled in our life assurance scheme and following six months’ service, you will also become eligible to join our private health insurance. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in our discretionary bonus and commission schemes, which can significantly enhance your overall remuneration.
In 2018, Griffin Law established its charitable foundation, which makes monthly donations to causes that reflect the firm’s values and support charities that are important to our employees, associates and clients.
