The Griffin Law Charitable Foundation was created by our founder to support national and international charities that fit with the Foundation’s ethos and pre-established requirements. Each month, the trustees of the Foundation meet to discuss how to dispense up to £1,000 to good works that may benefit from our funding.

Demelza House

Kirsty is fundraising for Demelza House, a hospice care facility for children. She needs to raise £5,000 for the charity to be able to take part in the Inca Trail challenge.

“In September 2024, I will be trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, to raise money for this amazing charity. This will be challenging for me both mentally and physically – it will take me completely out of my comfort zone and push my limits. But I am lucky that I am able to make the decision to put myself through this – the families that Demelza House work with face mental and physical challenges on a daily basis, but do so with courage and bravery.”

The Foundation will donate £750 and review the fundraising total in August 2024 in consideration of a further donation.

GOSH

Our banner printing contact, Mark of Black Lion press, is hosting the 13th Annual Matteo Charity golf day with all proceeds going to Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens’ Charity. To-date he has raised over £133,000.

In May 2010, his son Matteo was born with a unilateral cataract, and without the skills and expertise of the Ophthalmology eye team at Great Ormond St, his son would have gone blind within four weeks. Unfortunately, after numerous operations and years of aftercare Matteo’s eye never improved and although Matteo has now been discharged from GOSH, Mark still wants to continue the day for all the other poorly children that go to the hospital.

The Foundation will donate £250 in support of the event.

Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey and Sussex

www.aakss.org.uk

KSS is an independent lifesaving charity. It costs £16.6M a year or over £45K per day to operate a world leading, lifesaving service with 87% of total income raised through the generosity of supporters and 10% through NHS commissioning funds.

A donation from the Griffin Law Foundation would help us keep doctors, paramedics and helicopters flying in the face of increased demand for the service. Last year, KSS crews of pilots, doctors and paramedics responded to 3,328 incidents. Each mission cost £3,700

The Foundation will donate £500.
