Jacob and Jack both joined Griffin Law as paralegals and successfully obtained training contracts here. Fast forward two years and we are delighted to announce their recent qualifications as fully-fledged solicitors. We are extremely proud of their progress and congratulate them on their hard work and perseverance.

Could you be our next trainee solicitor?

We currently have an opening for a new trainee solicitor so we thought who better to talk about the job than our two latest qualifiers.

Jacob Porter

During my time at Griffin Law, I have been grateful to the firm for its dedication to my training and the support offered to me by my colleagues. Practising an “open door” policy, combined with the firm’s friendly environment, was unquestionably the ideal way to begin my legal career.

From day one, I could see that the firm’s commitment to its clients was paramount yet being a Trainee did not prevent the fee earners from showing a willingness to place me in a client-facing role. My involvement with the variety of work the firm undertakes allowed me to engage with clients at different points in their litigation and I began to understand that no one client’s objective is the same.

Being thrown into the firm’s complex and high-profile cases provided me with interesting but challenging work that made me refine my skills on a daily basis. Even as a Trainee, it was made clear that I must deliver the high-level quality of work that the firm provides all its clients, which was a great way to start my professional law career.

As my training progressed it was fulfilling to see my own professional development as I took on greater responsibility and was able to contribute to the success of a wide range of cases.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the firm and working alongside these dedicated lawyers who helped me so much. Their encouragement and support spurred confidence in my own abilities.

I would strongly recommend Griffin Law to any aspiring solicitors who are seeking an engaging and fulfilling training contract.

Jack Stevens

Training and qualifying at Griffin Law has been a great start to my legal career. I intend to practice litigation as a solicitor, therefore, Griffin Law’s specialist focus on litigation has provided me with a really strong foundation. I look forward to building on that as a newly qualified solicitor with Griffin Law, and continuing to develop my knowledge and abilities to help resolve disputes successfully for my clients.

Griffin Law’s size meant that I had up-close, flexible and hands-on training. I was exposed to various matters including substantial corporate and commercial disputes, tax appeals and breach of contract.

Throughout my training, I experienced all facets of the litigation process, including pre-action correspondence, alternative dispute resolution, disclosure, interim applications and hearings, final hearings and even enforcement of costs.

I worked very closely with all the Firm’s directors and senior associates and learned much from their wide range of experiences and expertise.

These factors resulted in an enriching training process with Griffin Law and have provided invaluable experience as I begin my career as a litigation solicitor.

I highly recommend Griffin Law to prospective trainee solicitors. Training with Griffin Law combines exciting cases, hands-on experience, and working closely with experienced senior colleagues to create a rewarding experience.
